Diamonds really are forever according to Mr West!

King of bling Kanye West has recently solidified Shirley Bassey’s claim that Diamonds Are Forever by removing and replacing his actual bottom teeth with diamonds!

Seeeeeeeeeeeriously this is completely true.

Chat show host Ellen DeGeneres asked him if it was just a Grill, to which he replied “It’s really my real teeth. I replaced my bottom row of teeth. I guess theirs just certain things that rock stars are supposed to do”.

Now I’m no expert (and please correct me if I’m wrong here), BUT isn’t Kanye West a rapper? NOT a rock star!!!?

When ask why, he simply replied ‘I just thought they where cooler’ – which is fair enough. Most of his loyal fans initially denied that he would do something sooooo ridiculous, but they where soon shocked to discover that he actually is a little bit mental.

He does live the Rapper (cough cough I mean Rockstar!!) lifestyle though, and has the private jets, the private villas and probably has a private island somewhere, but has now officially cemented himself as the king of bling.

We should all be VERY thankful that he has a private jet, because if your standing behind him in line at the airport, your in for a long wait…as getting passed the metal detectors is now going to be a nightmare for him.

Tulisa in trouble with Ofcom over new Veneers

Being a celebrity must be great. Great clothes, great holidays and even greater houses. There’s no doubt that celebrities work hard for their money (most of the time) so deserve the better things in life, as do we all. But isn’t it strange that the richer they become the less they pay!!! The more money they make, the less everything costs?? Take lovely Tulisa for example.

In a recent interview with Radio Times, the X Factor judge said “Its mental, the amount of free things I get offered. There are things I work to afford and I don’t have to pay for them. Its ridiculous. I could sell half the free things I have and be able to put a mortgage down on a house” – WHAT…a mortgage, seriously!!!!

WOW, that does sound amazing. One of her recent freebies was a brand new sparkling set of Veneers for her teeth. The lucky judge has since been in trouble by Broadcasting Watchdogs for constantly plugging the dentist who made it happen via Twitter. With over a million followers we can assume that she got them for free in exchange for the relentless free publicity she is giving for them. Not a bad idea if you ask me…but not EVERY tweet needs a mention of your dentist, how weird would that be if we all did it!

But fair play to Tulisa on her free teeth, lets hope the regulators go easy on her as she is in N-Dubz you know!

Kate Middleton and the pearls of imperfection

What is the secret to marrying a Prince? A posh family, a good education, classic looks? Well although these ‘probably’ help, it turns out it could be to do with her teeth OR the imperfections with her teeth!

Reports have come out recently that say Kate Middleton has undergone some Cosmetic Dentistry to get her pearly whites in order, for all of those posh functions that she will now be very much attending.

And the secret it turns out is a French one! Kate revealed recently that she turned her attentions to French dentistry expert Didier Fillion of Wimpole St London, who claims to give the best ‘imperfect’ smile around. ‘WHATS THAT’ I hear you say, ‘imperfect’!!! Yep you read it right…an imperfect smile.

The concept isn’t as weird as it sounds (well actually it is) but the idea is that Hollywood and the world of International celebrity has an obsession with very straight and aligned teeth, which makes them look very fake and kind of un-natural. So he chooses to give his clients a very natural healthy smile without the ‘fake’ look, essentially mis-aligning them on purpose.

And it seems to be a big hit with mainly British celebrities as his list of clients has included the likes of Kelly Brook and Sadie Frost.

And who are we to criticize? She did marry a Prince after all!

Blake Lively and ‘that’ Yearbook picture

Like most of us at school, we dream of the day that we grow up, look much more beautiful and are a lot more comfortable with ourselves. Some of us even secretly hope to look a bit like a celebrity…any celebrity will do!!! And it seems as though Blake Lively is living proof that the dream CAN exist. Now we are not implying that Hollywoods hottest new star was ambushed by the proverbial ‘tree’ as a youngster as that is clearly not the case, but what a difference a few years can make…and a new set of teeth.

24 year old Lively who went to school in California had her yearbook picture taken in 2002 and the crookedness of her teeth can be clearly seen. Now reports have come out recently that state she did in fact wear braces to correct this problem, but it is highly unlikely that whilst she was swept up by Hollywood she didn’t then have further procedures.

Bizarre new trend in Japan for cosmetically crooked teeth – Yaeba

Young Japanese girls are setting a very obscure trend called Yaeba (double tooth). Disregarding the accepted ideals for straight white teeth, girls from Tokyo are seeking more extreme work from their cosmetic dentists.

They are requesting ‘fang’ additions to be affixed to their canine teeth, making them appear to have a crooked and crowded smile. The aim is to look more youthful and child-like. Celebrity movie star Kirsten Dunst has a similar look, only hers is natural.

While this is certainly an interesting and thought provoking trend, we don’t see it catching on in the west. No fangs!

Lindsay Lohan cleans up her act with a brighter, whiter smile

Lindsay Lohan recently made the headlines again for all the wrong reasons. Photos of her yellow stained and decaying teeth were published across the internet and in gossip magazines.

She previously had a flawless smile, however her lifestyle and poor dental hygiene contributed to a less than flattering look.

Just weeks later, she was snapped again, but this time with her pearly whites restored.
